Today, we have the vibrant and mystical Asha Kristina - multi-disciplinary artist, tarot reader, yoga teacher, and ecstatic dance facilitator whose work blends ancient archetypes with modern creativity.

Who are you and what do you do?

Asha Kristina. I read tarot and astrology, plan/host unique events, teach yoga, facilitate dance events.

What’s your favorite part of the work you do?

Creating an event that surprises and delights people.

What’s the story behind your business name?

Tarot in Space came to me in a dream I had of myself as a potion slinger behind a bar in space where people from all around the galaxy would go to receive a tarot or astrology reading. It continues to expand.

Astrological Sign or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator? Hogwarts House also accepted.

Scorpio Sun, Libra Moon, Scorpio rising, and I would definitely be Ravenclaw.

How has your identity shaped the way you run your business?

Aside from an obsessive work drive (Mars in Capricorn) I believe my imagination, my enthusiasm, and my creativity to be my greatest assets. The more I love what I'm creating, the more opportunity it gives me.

Early bird or night owl? Do you keep a regular schedule?

I am an early bird during the week and a night owl on the weekends. If I am working on, or writing something, more shadowy, I like to work at night.

What’s one piece of advice you'd give to someone starting a business today?

Have trusted people or a team that have a variety of complimentary skill sets, and that give you honest feedback. Always go back to your "why".

What's your proudest “I did that!” moment?

I hiked up a mountain and spent the night in a cave full of bats with only my dog.

Combining "practitioner" and "performer" is just one of the unique spaces Asha occupies.

Do you have a “Get Amped” song or mantra before an important meeting or event?

It depends on the event. If i wanna get amped, I like "Ænima" by Tool. If I'm doing a playful event, Cosmo Sheldrake. If I wanna get focused I like chill stuff like African jazz or something acoustic.

What goals or dreams are you still chasing?

Roller dancing. [I've] been wanting to get good at that shit since I was 10. Just got jam plugs for my skates and dance nights at Skateland are on Tuesdays.

What’s a totally unrelated skill you have that no one expects?

I can read UTM coordinates on a map and can navigate to those coordinates using a compass.

Do you have any business rituals—lucky socks, specific playlists, dance breaks? Or a self-care ritual you swear by (even if it’s just snacks and silence)?

Many. I walk in the desert at sunrise with my dog. I dance a lot. I sit at my altar and visualize. I write everything down in journals. Every idea I have is written down somewhere.

What’s your go-to local spot when you're not working?

We frequent a local brewery in QC called Old Ellsworth Brewing. For morning times, I love Sidewalk Coffee and Bagel owned by my glittery friend Azedeh.
